It was not until 2003, that a 30 kilometre road was constructed connecting Gingolx people to the rest of the Nass Valley by car. Through leases and joint ventures we have built meaningful business relationships that have created social and employment opportunities for both natives and non-natives in the South Okanagan. [168] [169] Since the early 20th century, the growth of Canada's manufacturing, mining, and service sectors has transformed the nation from a largely rural economy to an urbanized, industrial one.

Like the Nootka, the Kwakiutl spoke a language belonging to the Wakashan language family. When the Second World War was over, Canadians seemed to realize that they had mistreated minority groups, and disenfranchisements of earlier years began to be reversed. The Citizenship Act (and its related regulations) sets out the basic rules and procedures regarding Canadian citizenship.
